Live in care
Project detail
We are looking for a live-in carer for our Mum. She has frontotemporal dementia which so far has affected her speech (she is non verbal) behaviour and some movements. She still has her memory.
She is relatively active and attends weekly groups including table tennis w.i groups and church meetings.
She has friends who visit her regularly either to play games at home or take her out for a walk.
She needs help with personal care, shopping, preparing meals (she likes to help if she can) prompting to take meds, and attending her groups.
She enjoys walks and being out in nature.
Until one month ago my Father was her full time carer unfortunately he had complications following an operation and as a result has had to have an extended period of time in hospital. We do not know when he is due to return home, but when he does he may also need some support until he builds back to full strength.
Ideally we would like at least two carers to share the job as I think it important to take regular breaks to ensure quality of life and good mental health for the carers, but may consider 1 full time for the right person.
Most importantly we are looking for someone who enjoys their job and can care for Mum as if she were family.
