At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.
From the Royal British Legion:
“The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.
To this day we mark Armistice Day around the United Kingdom with a Two Minute Silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.”
We honour and remember them each year on Remembrance Sunday with a Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.
Let us never forget those who lay down their lives that we may enjoy freedoms in ours.
Private Care Dorchester pays tribute to those who lay down their lives during the first two great wars. We pay tribute to those who continue to lay down their lives for our Country today.
And we pay honour and tribute to the elderly veterans who fought and were involved in the wars.
It is always heartwarming when we come across a Client who fought or was involved in the Second World War and it is our privilege and pleasure to take care of them via Carer we introduce.
